Bodacious Trip Alert: Quick First Class trip to Tokyo!

If there’s any silver lining to having a wife that’s deployed to the other side of the world, it’s the fact that I get to visit her in Japan!

Next week I embark on a quick jaunt to the land of Endless Discovery and visit Tokyo for the second time. The first time (with Kev) probably doesn’t count, as it was only for about 12 hours on a layover.

See you soon, old building!

Anyway, I’ll have some really fantastic products to review, including:

  • United Polaris Lounge ORD (Press release here)
    • This lounge is opening today, so I’m hoping to be one of the first to get a comprehensive review of it!
  • ANA (B777) First Class ORD-HND
    • This route just launched a month ago┬áso I’m excited to give it a go! This will be the first time on ANA for either of us, as last time we went through Japan we took JAL.
  • 3 Days in Tokyo
    • I don’t plan on having a huge amount of context in this one, but hopefully some great pictures!
  • The Prince Sakura Tower (Marriott Autograph Collection)
    • I want to try a few hotels while we’re there, so the first night we’ll be trying this one out! We won’t get in until about 9:00 p.m., but hopefully I’ll have enough time for a good review.
  • Grand Hyatt Tokyo
    • We’ll be spending 3 nights at the GHT using points + cash (12,500 points and ~$150)
    • It was a tough decision between this and the Park Hyatt, but between the extra points/money needed, and the mediocre reviews, I decided to go with the GH.
  • Royal Park Hotel the Haneda
    • With the wife leaving to head back on Sunday, and my flight not leaving until first thing Monday morning, it made a lot of sense to just check out of the GH and move into the airport hotel!
    • This place is still $150, but saves me 12,500 Hyatt points.
  • Asiana (OZ) Business Class HND-ICN
  • Asiana (OZ) First Class ICN-JFK
    • This is probably the review I’m looking forward to the most! I specifically took a longer route home so I could try OZ FC on a long-haul flight – pumped!

Along the way I’ll have an opportunity to see a few familiar places, including the Asiana First Class Lounges at ICN.

I’ll be putting out the introductory post in a few days, but I hope you’ll follow along starting next week!
