Bodacious Trip Alert: Thai food and Temples!!
Joe had all the fun in the Fall going on his AWESOME flights to the Maldives and then heading down to South Africa a few weeks later (trip report coming soon). Now it’s my turn to get back to the jet-setting! For our next adventure we will be heading to Thailand and Cambodia!!
As many of you know, I am a surgical resident so my travel time is limited, which means I try to pack as much as I can into each trip, which is why we are going to both countries. Beaches in Thailand for Katie (and me – I love beaches too) and Temples in Cambodia for me. We will be flying some fantastic airlines and staying at some really great hotels to go along with our adventure in 2 countries that neither of us have been to.
We will be leaving out of LAX on Singapore Airlines Suites Class and connecting through Tokyo and Singapore before finally taking an hour SilkAir flight to Phuket!
Joe has been in Singapore Airlines Suite Class for 7 hours from New York to Frankfurt but this will be my first time and we will have about 18 hours to live the Suite Life! I will be able to compare it to my other SQ experience on our First Class flight from Seoul to San Fransisco.
We then head immediately to Koh Phi Phi Don for a few days before contining on to Siem Reap on AirAsia. Once there we will spend a couple night at the Park Hyatt Siem Reap and explore all the temples before heading home.
For our return we will have lounges to review in Hong Kong and Tokyo while flying Cathay Pacific Business Class and Japan Airlines First Class!
Here are the reviews you can expect (subject to change):
Singapore Airlines Suites Class LAX-NRT
Singapore Airlines Suites Class NRT-SIN
SilkAir Economy Class SIN-HKT
Transfer to Holiday Inn Koh Phi Phi
Holiday Inn Koh Phi Phi
Adventures in Koh Phi Phi
Local booking in Phuket
Park Hyatt Siem Reap
Siem Reap/Temples Review
DragonAir Economy Class REP-HKG
Cathay Pacific Business Class HKG-NRT
Japan Airlines First Class NRT-ORD
**Plenty of lounge reviews, as always, will also be included!
Needless to say there are going to be a lot of great reviews and I am really excited to checkout a new area of the world! On the way there I get to try a new cabin and on the way back I get to fly a second time in my favorite first class thus far (JAL First)!
Since this will be our first time to Koh Phi Phi and Siem Reap, does anyone have any advice?? Would love to hear other people’s experiences!
