Flight Review: DragonAir Economy Class Siem Reap (REP) – Hong Kong (HKG)
After a wonderful stay in Siem Reap and a great food tour earlier in the day (will post on this later), it was time to head to the airport for our long journey home. For our flight from Siem Reap to Hong Kong we would be flying in economy for one simple reason…that was the only class on the plane!
Here is the trip so far!
After waiting in line for quite a long time to check in we were finally checked in and through security to the do a little shopping and wait for our flight. The Siem Reap International Airport impressed me when we first arrived and continued to impress as we left. It is a small but very nice airport where almost everything looks really new.
Airline: DrangonAir (soon to be Cathay Dragon)
Route: KA 241
Seats: 22J and 22K
Flight time: 2.5 hours
Well before we started boarding there was a huge line forming at the gate. Since we had a seat and no real bags to put in the over head bins I found there to be no need to get up until the line died down, which we did about 20 minutes later.
After getting on the plane we found a pretty typical economy class cabin with 3 seats on either side of the aisle. Although we were in row 22 we were actually only about 4 or 5 rows back from the front if I remember correctly. I’m not sure why it was numbered like that but the first row was in the teens instead of #1.
The flight was fairly uneventful which is really what you want from an economy flight. We were served drinks and food during the flight which was actually really good.
I ended up eating almost all of it even though I was trying to hold back because I wanted to eat in the lounge in HKG. The worst part was I got the chocolate Häagen Dazs instead of the cookies and cream! The girl at the window shoveled down everything so quickly we were worried she was going to choke, so clearly she liked it.
After landing in the Hong Kong International Airport we breezed through security transfer and we off to our next stop, The “Pier” Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge!
