Lounge Review: American Airlines Admirals Club Charlotte International CLT (C Terminal)

Like Kevin and the STL Admirals Club, I’m a frequent visitor of the CLT AC, and I’ve finally decided to write a review!

Since I fly up and down the East coast a lot from a small eastern North Carolina airport, I’m pretty much forced to connect through Charlotte, and often have to make the long haul from the end of the E terminal to either the B, C or D terminals.

The club, being in the Charlotte airport, is a legacy US Air club now converted into an AC. I’ve visited it many times as both a US Air Club and an AC, and the difference after the change is minimal – other than the delicious AA cookies, of course!

I’ve always liked the big open entrance to this club, along with the doors from both terminals (the D-E side and the C side)

Main hallway looking straight to the back of the lounge

From the C-side entrance: If you are walking down the main hallway there are the snacks on the left, and a huge open seating area with TVs just past it further down. On the right is the bar area in it’s own room (sorry I somehow forgot to get the bar picture!).

Snack area. Also connects the two hallways that run parallel to each other up and down the lounge.

Coffee (ie. my survival juice).

Snackies (Chips, salsa, celery & ranch, crackers)

Fancy coffee machines I don’t use. This is more up Kevin’s alley.

Famous AC snack mix and, of course, the delicious cookies. I’m more of an oatmeal raisin type of guy than chocolate chip.

Continuing down the hallway, past the bar on the right is another seating area. It’s large, open, and boast tarmac views. It’s usually my room of choice. The next three pics go from left to right across that room.

This was taken from the near-right corner of this room – one of my favorite spots!

Back out in the middle is the main-front seating area.

Heading further back in the lounge there’s another almost identical snack area and a more circular seating area, boasting pretty good views of the tarmac and a pretty cool circular ceiling.

Really cool ceiling in the back seating area.

I pretty much ran a circle for the pictures, so I went back up the opposite hallway and checked out the business center, along with my favorite, secret spot in the lounge!

My secret spot! Who knows where this little room is?

And that’s it! Next time I’m in Philly I’m going to review at least one of those lounges that I’ve also visited many, many times!

One Comment on “Lounge Review: American Airlines Admirals Club Charlotte International CLT (C Terminal)

  1. Dear sir/madam,

I am a oneword customer with Sapphire status from the Qantas frequent flyer program. At the front desk, I spoke to Razi from terminal C (North Carolina) if there was an opportunity to be put on standby. She said that was not possible. I said that I am a oneworld customer with Sapphire status. She asked if I had equivalent status with American airlines. I replied ‘no’. She replied that in North America, I am not eligable to be put on standby. I sat down in the lounge and researched the standby policy. The policy indicated being part of oneworld with saphire access made me eligable for complimentary standby. I showed the policy to her, and she arranged a standby ticket for me. She then said I had to pay $75 if a ticket is issued. Clearly she does not understand the company policy regarding standby and also does not understand the full meaning of standby. I am not sure if this a manangement or staff issue, but I thought I would give some feedback on my experience.

    Regards,

    Gregory Norman
