Lounge Review: American Express Centurion Lounge New York LaGuardia (LGA)
This trip report is finally underway! I apologize for the delay as life and whatnot has gotten in the way of posting! But here we go!
If you’re not sure where we’re picking up from, check out our introduction post.
Anyway, Pat was taking the train up from Baltimore to meet me at JFK for our flight to Abu Dhabi! I took a direct flight from my small airport of Wilmington, NC to New York LaGuardia. I gave myself plenty of time, so I didn’t have a problem transiting from LGA to JFK.
With a few hours to kill before needing to meet Pat at JFK, I figured I’d get a new lounge review in, the American Express Centurion Lounge LGA! It also didn’t hurt that they were also offering the free Uber ride to anywhere in the 5 Burroughs with a coupon from the lounge! It pretty much made my choice to hang out there vice JFK a no-brainer.
I arrived into LGA at the old US Airways terminal, terminal C. The terminal has been completely redone and actually looks pretty good!
I then took the transfer bus over to terminal B so I could easily get up to the Centurion Lounge! From there I just followed the signs!
The lounge is pre-security in Terminal B on the 3rd level between concourses B & C.
The lounge hours are 5:30 am – 8 pm (Sunday – Friday), 5:30 am – 6:30 pm (Saturday).
Being that it was about 4:30 or so, the lounge was pretty packed! The check in had a decent line, and I only wanted to be so creepy taking pictures. But I had to at least get one of the classic entrance plants!
The check-in desk is in the front-left corner of the lounge. Just past the entrance desk is a smaller room with tables, chairs, little nooks, and a high-top, slim table overlooking the tarmac (that’s where I sat the entire time).
If you go down the hallway to the right of the check-in desk you end up at the other, larger room of the lounge that houses the dining area and bar!
The hallway is filled with small nooks and tables facing the wall lined with TVs.
The bar and dining area features a few food options and a some great cocktails! Check out the full list of sample drinks and foods on the LGA CL website.
The lounge was pretty packed when I first got there, but once it cleared out a bit it was really quite nice. It’s significantly smaller than the other CLs I’ve been to, but very similar. It didn’t have a dedicated children’s room or spa option, but it’s a fantastic lounge. By far the nicest of the ones I’ve been to in LGA.
Remember the Uber promotion? To say it helped is an understatement.
With bad rush hour traffic my ride took quite a while and was an over $82 ride! That promotion code literally saved me $82 I would have spent anyway!
Have you been to the LGA CL? How did you like it? Were you able to use the Uber promo??
