Lounge Review: Emirates First Class Terminal A Dubai (DXB)
After a fantastic flight from Milan with some time at the bar and a shower on the way, it was time to explore the massive First Class lounge in terminal A and get some dinner.
The First Class lounge is located on the second floor in Terminal A with the Business Class lounge located on the 3rd floor.
After taking the elevator up we arrived at a beautiful entrance with a number of check-in desks inside, just behind the desk you enter the “lounge.”
Our trip so far:
This is suppose to be a lounge but really it is an entire terminal and it is HUGE. Here is a map to give you an idea:
If your flight leaves from this terminal (ours left from B) you can actually board directly from the lounge.
As we walked around the lounge there was one thing that became apparent very quickly. This thing is WAY too big for the number of people that are in it!
When walking around we maybe saw 10 other people in there. When we ate in the restaurant it was a different story (there were maybe 15) but overall it’s a massive space.
There are seating areas throughout the lounge and different drink and food set ups in a finger-food and buffet fashion.
At the end of the terminal is the most impressive seating area with a large chandelier-looking-things and of course, more food and drinks.
There is also a cigar bar and a kids play area! (don’t worry, these aren’t combined haha). Also a Spa and a sleeping room.
There is also a sit-down restaurant at which Katie and I ate a very late dinner. I remember the food being pretty good but nothing that knocked my socks off. I had a burger and Katie had some sort of fruit thing.
At the restaurant you could either order from a waiter or eat from the buffet, or both.
After about an hour and a half in this gigantic first class lounge, it was time to head over to terminal B, where we would be departing from. We figured we would be closer to our gate and we’d check out the First Class lounge in that terminal. Little did we know, Emirates had a surprise waiting for us when we arrived!
Over all this lounge is incredibly impressive and certainly finds a place in my Top 10. You have more seating and space than you could ever want, a nice sit down restaurant, a free spa treatment, a kids play area, and of course free high-end food and drinks. However, the most impressive thing about the lounge might also be it’s main drawback…its size. It is by far the most massive lounge I have ever been in and it’s sheer size really is amazing. This makes it never feel crowded but it also means that you don’t really feel like you are in a lounge but just in a really nice terminal where everything happens to be free! Regardless, it’s a really cool experience and I look forward to seeing in again in July!
