After a wonderful stay in Abu Dhabi it was time to take our free Audi ride back to the Abu Dhabi airport so that we could start our journey to the islands! As I talk about HERE, Etihad chauffeurs you to and from the airport if you are flying business or first class, even on award tickets.
Park Hyatt Honeymoon Trip Report:
Upon arrival at the airport we immediately saw that there was a separate First and Business Class entrance.
Immediately upon arrival a slew of attendants descended upon our Audi to stanch up our bags and wheel them to the check in. There was construction at the curbside but immediately inside had a very nice decor and after turning a corner we walked right up to the Business Class counter to check in.
Check-in was very easy and we were done the whole process of check-in, security and passport control in maybe 5 minutes. We were told at the counter that the lounge was near gate 35 which would be our next stop I thought….after buying a few souvenirs.
Once through we found a really beautiful and busy terminal with every high end shop you can think of. We also saw an Etihad’s A380’s headed to London, which Joe with be flying in September and will be writing a review on!
The whole walk took about 5 minutes (minus the shopping) and is pretty well marked and easy to find.
This lounge is significantly larger than the lounge at IAD or the Arrivals lounge…put together! It accommodates all the business and first class customers on this side of the airport, although they are currently in the process of making a new First and Residence lounge.
When you first enter the lounge there is a kids area on your right and a dining area on your left where there is a buffet (I ended up getting our breakfast from here) as well as a sit down dining area with a small bar behind it.
Straight ahead is a small area in the back with a roped off siting area with an attendant which is reserved for the first class passengers. This gives them an exclusive area until the new lounge is done.
As you turn right the rest of the large lounge is laid out in front of you. There is another small buffet to the left, a large bar to the right and seating areas on both sides as you go further into the lounge. As you continue there is another full size buffet on your left as well as a business center, as the seating areas continue on your right. Finally, at the end of the lounge are the bathrooms as well as the Six Senses Spa, and Style and Shave Salon (free to first class but not to business class).
We got comfortable at the end of the lounge near the spa where there are very comfortable chairs and plenty of interesting decorations giving it the feel of a library, or a study. I went and got us some food but there were also servers walking around who would get you drinks or clear your plates.
SIX SENSES SPA
While we were sitting there eating I couldn’t remember what the deal with the spa was. Is it free? Is it expensive? Do we even have time since we have to head to our gate in 40 min?
So what do you do when you don’t know? You ask!
The staff at the spa informed me that all first and business class passengers received a free 15 minutes spa treatment AND they currently had space for us so we could partake before our flight!
There are a number of different spa treatments but Katie settled on a facial while I decided to get a foot massage. It was the first time I ever had a massage of any kind and it was excellent! It was done in 15 minutes and we were off, fully refreshed to our flight!
While this lounge had a ton of people and seemed full to the brim, it’s so large that it was still very easy to find seating. The food is plentiful and pretty good and includes a large bar with complimentary drinks. Couple all this with a sleek decor and comfy seats as well as the free Spa, (and if you happen to by flying First class, a free Salon treatment) and this is a great way start a day of travel or spend a few hours between flights. Traveling as a business class customer this might be the best business class lounge I have ever seen!
Up Next: It’s off to Male on Etihad business class!
