Park Hyatt Honeymoon: Introduction (DC, Abu Dhabi, Maldives and LA)

Park Hyatt Honeymoon: Introduction (DC, Abu Dhabi, Maldives and LA)

PARK HYATT HONEYMOON

As many of you know I recently got back from my awesome honeymoon with my new wife, Katie!  We stayed in some awesome hotels and were able to take some amazing flights!  I mentioned a bit of what our trip entailed in my Bodacious Trip Alert a few weeks ago.

So why the Park Hyatt Honeymoon title?

Well, we stayed in 4 hotels during the trip and 3 of them were Park Hyatts! With the last being a Hyatt Andaz simply because there are no Park Hyatts in LA!  For those who don’t know, all of the large hotel chains have different levels/brands of hotel, including a luxury level.  For Hilton it’s Conrad; Marriott it’s JW and Ritz Carlton; IHG it is Intercontinental, etc, etc.  For Hyatt, their luxury level hotel is the Park Hyatt.  I’ve stayed at 2 Park Hyatts prior to this trip and the facilities, service and attention to detail were all exceptional, which is why I chose them for this special trip.

Did it live up to expectations?

I had been planning this trip for around 11 months before we left, so there was a lot of excitement around it for Katie and me (besides the usual that you would expect from a Honeymoon!).  To say we had an incredible time would be a true understatement.  Even though I knew we were staying at some top notch hotels and flying some of the best airlines in the world, I would say I was still very impressed with the level of service and how much people went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of on our honeymoon. Outstanding.

Over the next couple weeks I will be reviewing each of our flights and hotels as well as the areas that we visited.  We left on a Friday after work taking United out of our little airport to our first stop in Washington D.C. where we were able to spend the day with our parents before leaving the country (not many people get to spend the first day of their honeymoon with their parents 😉 )
